Captain’s Log 12 (Home for the Holidays)
Ahh, Christmas time. Chocolate pie, fudge, hot coffee, friends and family, no internet, presents and… wait, no internet!?!?!?!? (Cue Freddy Music)
My dependancy upon internet access has grown from being a convient link to the outside world (outside being beyond po-dunk country town city limits) to an everyday obsession. Blogs, financial reports, all important e-mail from my girlfriend, daily feeds that can equate to an IV drip from broadbandreports.com, and other tech ramblings keep me going strong.
Fortuneately I was given a Blackberry from a friend that no longer needed it. I went to the Cingular store near my parent’s house and purchased a new plan for my Blackberry for $39.99 a month which includes unlimited data and 1000 text messages. Not too bad but one thing I do wish I have is faster service when I link my Blackberry to my laptop. Oficially it cost an additional $79.99 a month to connecty my Blackberry to my laptop but forget that. A quick Google search eliminates that problem for me 
Anywho, have a safe new year holiday if you’re traveling and if you drive lay off the egg nog.
