Captain’s Log 19 (Ring In the New Year With Gunshots)
Today was exciting. My girlfriend (Lauren) and I went to Winnfield, Louisiana where my grandma lives to do some target practice. I brought my department issued .40 caliber Glock so I could get some practice with it and learn how it handles. My dad decided to join us and he brought his 9mm Beretta.
I enjoy my .40 Glock but prefer the feel of my dad’s 9mm Beretta. Below you’ll find my girlfriend, dad, and I shooting. Here is a video of me shooting the mess out of a target at the end of our day (yeah, I’m fat so ignore the belly!).
Update 25 August 2007: I removed the video. It was collecting dust on my webserver.
What you don’t see is the few hundred 9mm rounds that we fired downrange and then my one .40 round that literally blew up the wooden poles holding the targets. Either the .40 caliber has more power than the 9mm or I’m a bad shot… I think the former is true :->.
Tomorrow I head back to my house in New Orleans after spending vacation for a few weeks with my parents and sister in Alexandria, Louisiana.
She’s gonna bust a cap in you….
