Xbox 360 Controller for PC

YES! I’m excited! Technically this post was to come before the Halo LAN/WAN night post as it would make more sense but anywho: Yesterday I purchased an Xbox 360 controller for my PC. The controller itself supports USB 2.0 and I support out of the box thinking so I thought to myself “Lets use the 360 controller on my PC!”
Yeah, whatever. I wasn’t the first person to think of it. On the top of the Xbox 360 controller box was, in a very obscure location, the text “Works with most Windows XP SP2″ and the reassuring logo (because we ALL know that products designed for Windows will work with Windows… all the time… right?) Not this time.
I visted the Windows Gaming.com site to download the “Official Windows XP SP2 Drivers for Xbox 360 Controller” but couldn’t find them ANYWHERE. Geeze, it says it on the box on where to download the drivers BUT THEY WEREN’T THERE! AHHHHH!
Luckily Google came to my aid (as always) and a few searches for Xbox 360 Controller Drivers turned up a site that had them. WELL longer story somewhat short if you need the drivers that are hard to locate (hard for me) then feel free to download them from http://www.johndball.com-a.googlepages.com/programs-XBOX360Eng.exe.
Disclaimer: I found them from a third party website. They worked ON MY MACHINE and appeared to be virus free, BUT in the event that you somehow screw your PC up and decided to blame your mistakes on these seemingly flawless 360 controller drivers I’m not responsible! :->
