I received the system from a Higher Education Institution as a gift for my donated time and resources. I did do some hardware modification to the rear of the system so I could install a graphics card (see picture). I upgraded the RAM and HDD as well as added a TV tuner card (one of the best I will add) and purchased BeyondTV 4. I’ve been VERY impressed with this system. The processor was NEVER overclocked . I did overclock the GeForce 440 once for a bench test just to see what it could do (worked well with PowerStrip).

Reason for selling: No longer needed, I am saving my shekels for an engagement ring (and this hopefully will put me close to my goal). I’ve had NO PROBLEMS WHATSOEVER with this machine. If I had to do it all over again I would. It has been great and now it is time for it to make somebody else happy.

You might remember my yellow laptop experiment from December
(http://www.dslreports.com/forum/remark,17548526) well I no longer have a need for it (replaced it with a tablet PC and buying an engagement ring with the $$$). I recently purchased a Gateway Tablet PC to replace it. I am trying to go to school when I’m not working and found that a tablet PC is easier for me to take notes.

It works great and never had a problem. Even with the overclock on the processor the PC has NEVER had a problem. As a matter of fact last night I was looking for more upgrades (faster HDD, more RAM) but changed my mind.

It does show signs of wear. Some corners of the yellow paint have chipped but VERY slightly. The fan shroud on the left side of the laptop where the vent is has no little plastic teeth. I removed the plastic teeth myself though, not from an accident, but for more exhaust room. No dead pixels but not going to guarantee anything as this is about 2 years old.

The final mod/upgrade I made to this laptop is the Translucent Blue keyboard. Toshiba stopped making these years ago and I found one and couldn’t resist. I was going to put blue LEDs behind the board but decided to put them in my WRT54G instead.

I will change the yellow to factory silver plastic housing but will ship the yellow housing with the unit as well as an extra touch pad and keyboard. The only yellow piece I don’t have is the speaker bezel. It never came out perfect so I have in its place the silver plastic housing/bezel.
