BeyondTV 4 and my 40″ Samsung LCD
On Friday night I purchased a Samsung 40″ LCD HD TV from Circuit City for a little more than a grand. The AWESOME thing about this TV is the picture in High Definition. I’ve been sitting on divx.com and their HD videos, even some Imax-filmed videos on their I’ve been watching and they look amazing!
Even better is the fact that I have my gaming PC hooked up to my TV via the “VGA” input on the back (I know, it sucks but I have a HDMI cable on the way). Halo on a 40″ looks great! What is sweet about this setup is Snapstream’s Beyond TV. Ever heard of Tivo? Throw that crap out and get Beyond TV. No subscription and no BS. One time fee and that is it. I can have as little or as many hard drives as I want to store my files.
The only problem I had with BeyondTV 4 is that the image was not the size of my TV. I paid for all 40 inches so I might as well use them. On Snapstream’s obscure forums and thanks to many a Google search I found out that you can change the viewed image size by pressing the “G” key on your keyboard to change your image while watching live tv. http://forums.snapstream.com/vb/showthread.php?s=90ebd482b13ce12cf33bfe5b44a6b691&t=35413
Why they don’t have this under “Settings” or even “Advanced Settings” I don’t know. So, once you get BeyondTV for yourself and need to get the image looking great, use the “G” key while watching live TV.
