Worse Case Scenario: The train derails, but thats unlikely…

I’m pretty sure the package I sent with the laptop and routers aren’t going to make it on time. I just hope no UPS personnel were harmed in this accident.

  3. I have a package as well, I called ups to find out whether or not they would replaced damage packages, but i have delt with ups before and they always seem to deny all claims. I hope my video card i ordered doesn’t take another month or two to get to me all melted LOL.

  7. This is all BS, I just got notice that my package due to arrive on 3-19-08 has been rescheduled due to a derailment in Vernon, CA also, how many derailments could there be, this is a ploy to excuse UPS of their wrong doings and screw ups….no doubht.

  10. Amazingly enough, my package was on a ‘derailed train’ at 7:00am which was then listed as ‘late’ twice also at 7:00am and then at 2:37pm listed as ‘arrival scan’ package in transit. What the hell kind of derailments are they experiencing? One wheel comes off the track and they stop till some fat guy can lean on the train really hard till it pops back on? I agree with the majority of you, this is all bullshit. It’s UPS’s answer to being able to be tracked everywhere and be inefficient at the same time. Fedex does’t tell you “sorry you plane has crashed, package is late’ and then later that day say “your package is in transit by dolphin that picked it up during the water rescue effort.

  11. I live in New York, and I’m the latest victim of another UPS train derailment. In Parsippany, NJ this time, can’t find any news about it though.

I have two packages on a “train derailment” by Louisville international airport and everytime I hasve tried to call about my packages they cant tell me if it was on the train that derailed or just held up because of the train. With all the “tracking Technology” could they at least tell me where my packages are? Stupid UPS!

  13. Train Derailment my ass. I had two packages sent from Georgia to Seattle. One is on time and the other says train derailment. Im in the news media and there is no derailment in Seattle. I dont mind a delay but will not be lied to. No more UPS!!!

  15. Great , The UPs Train Derailment has hit once again. I was suppose to get a package ( a laptop for my son ) Toe get here on the 3/13/2009 , now we wont see it until 3/16/2009 . Keep in mind that it was sent out on 3/9/2009/ , so long lond does it really take. Oh they had a Train Derailment of one of their train on 3/12/2009 at noon in Jacksonville, FL

  16. Mine was supposed to be delivered in Sarasota on the 13th of March, 2009. I tracked the package on the 13th and it said it was on the truck, out for delivery. No package showed up. Now, on the 16th, I call the shipper and they inform me, very lackadaisically, of a train derailment (seems they’ve heard this before). I track it again, and suddenly there is a “train derailment” listed on the tracking at UPS.com on the 12th. They said nothing about this on the 13th when I tracked it. So, intrigued with a possible train wreck I’ve heard nothing about, I search online for info. NOTHING at all! But, I did find several other sites like this one of people speculating on the incredible amount of delays from UPS due to “train derailment”. UPS is either really unlucky, or a really bad business that can’t live up to promises made.
